The Security Administrator will work under the direction of the Vice President of Information Technology to support and strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture across a multi-site manufacturing environment. This role will initially focus on identifying opportunities to enhance and maintain the organization’s existing security toolset, including Fortinet, CrowdStrike, Microsoft, ManageEngine, and Barracuda solutions.

Key responsibilities include updating and maintaining disaster recovery procedures and documentation, advancing end-user security training programs, and supporting the development and enhancement of security policies. Over time, the role will expand to include evaluating alternative technologies and processes, with a particular emphasis on securing emerging initiatives, including those involving artificial intelligence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Investigative activities necessary to support organization’s Security Roadmap. Goal is to keep the company current vs. security needs by identifying necessary adjustments to the existing cyber security toolset.
  • Maintenance of tool configurations to execute on the findings above.
  • Regular, detailed review of alternative cyber security technologies to address endpoint, network, Cloud and disaster recovery positions.
  • Proper response to cyber security incidents in real-time as needed – includes monitoring and forensics analysis across the toolset.
  • Aid in design of security solutions related to production systems used on the plant floor.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of access control systems.
  • Aid in the maintenance of vulnerability and patch management systems.
  • Promote the secure, ethical, and responsible use of cyber security related technologies across the organization by providing online training programs, documentation/policies and end user classroom training opportunities.
  • Assist with compliance initiatives, risk assessments, mitigation strategies and security audits.
  • Occasional development of custom security related solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the individual must maintain confidentiality, be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or similar discipline required.
  • 3 + Years of general business experience performing evaluation, implementation and support of cyber security systems.
  • 2+ Years of hands-on experience with the organization’s existing cyber security toolset (Fortinet, Crowdstrike, Microsoft, ManageEngine and Barracuda),
  • A thorough understanding of enterprise level cyber security best practices – such as DLP, microsegmentation, zero-trust, disaster recovery, EDR, data replication strategies and least privilege.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Ability to perform well within an on-call work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to lead teams and manage investigative and implementation efforts.
  • Ability to develop training materials and lead team and individual training events.
  • Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Stay current with cyber security trends and development.
  • Formal project management at the task level.
  • Ability to productively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Perform forensics work using Crowdstrike and Fortinet reporting.
  • Work from a customer service perspective.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell a plus.

The Jel Sert Company is committed to pay transparency and will provide further compensation information during the interview process. The minimum compensation for the Security Administrator is $99,545. Compensation is determined by a candidate’s experience, education, skills, training, and the internal equity within our organization. Actual compensation to be paid will be determined upon an offer.
